It sure has been awhile since I blogged. Nothing all that interesting has happened besides celebrating my 2 year anniversary this week! (More on that another time)

Michael Buble is one of my absolute favorite singers and so I was ecstatic when I found out that I had been chosen to receive his newest CD to review, before it was even released! (That's where anniversary and family being in town comes time to be online!) But I did listen to the CD everywhere I drove and had it on my iphone as well.

His newest album, Crazy Love, did not disappoint. His voice is truly magnetizing...there is always so much drama and as goofy as it sounds, so many of the songs make my heart swell and give me goosebumps. I have many favorites from this album...Crazy Love (classic Buble), Whatever it Takes, Haven't Met You Yet, Georgia On My Mind...really almost all of them! I didn't expect to enjoy Cry Me a River but after listening to it a couple of times, it was so powerful!

I've waited for more than 2 years for him to make another album and this album is just perfection! My husband thinks I'm odd because Michael Buble is the only music I have on my iphone and so that's what I listen to while I run. Not the typical workout music but I sure do love it and how relaxing it is. It's also great to listen to while you're cooking or cleaning..most songs are so upbeat!

As soon as I heard the track Crazy Love, I thought that it would be a great song for Dancing With the Stars and then a couple weeks ago they announced Michael Buble will be singing one night! I soooo hope this is the song he sings. And here's a little fiction and fact: My Mom was dating a musician who toured with Michael Buble a few years ago! I hope he comes to Dallas next year on his tour so I can go!

I definitely recommend his album, Crazy Love!

I found this type of post on another blog and thought I'd post it on mine!

For Today:

Outside my window: it's overcast and looking out makes me hope it doesn't rain so our mower can come Saturday. Yuck!

I am thinking: about what I am going to eat for lunch, how anxious I am for Adam to be home, and how I have overwhelming piles of magazines to look through and recycle!

I am thankful for: my amazing friends and family that have kept me company while Adam was out of town.

From the kitchen: I can't wait to be able to stock up on food again. I've been itching to cook and it's hard to cook for only one person.

I am wearing: a t-shirt and jeans. Boring, I know.

I am reading: Marley and Me currently. Next up is The Notebook and The Wedding.

I am hoping: to find something cute to wear this weekend when I go shopping with Emily tonight!

I am creating: some organizational files from all of my magazine tear-outs.

I am hearing: silence.

Around the house: it is completely spotless and I am so thankful to just relax today and tomorrow.

One of my favorite things: is snuggling with Adam. We are huge cuddlers! We hold each other all night, snuggle on the couch while watching TV, and I LOVE snuggling in bed on Saturday mornings.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Shopping with Emily tonight, Adam comes home tomorrow, our friend Kevin's b-day party this weekend, and spending Mother's Day with Adam's Mom and Grandmother.

What's going on in your life?

Ugh! The past week turned out to NOT be a good one. The week started out OK but then Thursday I went to my MIL's school to help paint some scenery for their upcoming program. She works at a very nice Christian private school and I got up there at 1:00 and had a great time helping.

At 3:00 we walked out into the parking lot to find my driver's side window smashed in. I was so upset and was shaking. I couldn't believe this happened there! There are certain places where I will take my cd player out but this was definitely not a time where I even gave it a second thought. Anyways they stole my cd player and a pouch from my glove box that held all the information on my car. I'm thinking they took it because it looked like one of those bank deposit bags.

I thanked God so much though because I realized I had grabbed my ipod at the last minute thinking that I might listen to it while I painted. I almost took my rings off and left them in the stupid of me to even think about doing that. But what I seriously was so thankful for was that I had not changed my insurance coverage the day before! I had called because my premium had gone up a bit and the rep that I spoke with said I could get rid of my comprehensive and collision and it would be $300 cheaper. Adam and I decided it wasn't a good idea, wasn't that much money when it's divided by 6 months, and with my luck I'd get in a wreck the next day and be screwed. I definitely do not believe that it was "luck" or a coincidence that I didn't have much in my car. Now it has even given Adam a reality check on not leaving stuff in his car. He'd be out thousands of dollars if someone broke into his!

Anyways so now I am just going through all of the steps of my claim. I got my window fixed but now I need to get it tinted and get a cd player installed. Surprisingly, I am not nearly as angry as I thought I might be. It made the school realize they needed their cameras to point at the school, the police said they would drive by the school more often, they sent out an email to the teachers and parents to remind them to be aware, and it reminded Adam, his Mom, and I that you just never know and should really bring anything valuable inside. So many people were incredibly helpful that day...I have the most amazing family and friends...and even people I didn't know. I stayed the night at Adam's parents, they took me to Cracker Barrell, and I couldn't sleep that night and spent 3:00-5:00 am on the phone with my Mom having a great conversation. My incredible husband came home on Friday and I spent the best weekend with him.

I had a fun day yesterday! Adam had taken off work to play golf for his cousin's husband's birthday but the plans fell through. So he stayed home with me until Lowe's came and leveled the washer and dryer and then we went to Grand Prairie to play golf. We had a good time and halfway through Adam started playing with an old man who was ahead of us. It was a nice day out until about 4:30 when the wind kicked up and brought in the smoke.

Some of the towns along the way to my Mom's house were evacuated because of fires but thankfully I don't think it got near her town.

We had our friends Tyler and Heather over last night to watch some Dexter. We are now three episodes into the third season.

Today I am doing some shopping and hoping my family still gets to come in town for Easter. Also hoping the weather will be nice tomorrow!

I am busy getting my home ready for our family to come stay the weekend and I spent a lot of time at Adam's aunt & uncle's house yesterday. They are the ones putting on the Easter Egg Hunt and his uncle fell off of a ladder on Saturday and broke a rib! So we will be helping them out a bit so they aren't so overloaded with stuff to do for this weekend.

I slept soooo good last night! Monday night Adam was sick and our electricity kept going off (most of the city had this problem...stupid construction and wind!) I was up most of the night so I dragged all day yesterday.

I've been doing lots of laundry today and playing rummikub online in between straightening up the house. I had to call Lowe's today because our washer was not leveled when they installed it. The guy thought it leveled itself but it actually just levels the inside drum. So we have had a lot of sitting water in it and it's been driving me insane. They should be coming to level it for us tomorrow though!

I really need to be looking for a new lawn service...our old one had a problem with coming on the same day, double charges, and the grass just never looked great. We have Hazel in the backyard now and I keep the gate locked so it's a big deal if they come a day early or late. We have been thinking of just mowing the back ourselves so that we don't have to worry about her but then we will need to buy a weed eater. We are also going to start fertilizing ourselves because once again, our grass doesn't look that great. The company we used went up on prices and the tech made a comment about how bad our backyard looked and if we were new customers. WE USED THEM ALL LAST YEAR THANKYOUVERYMUCH! So they ticked me off and I realized it's not hard to fertilize on your own and it's much cheaper. And I don't have to deal with a**holes. :)

Off to research now!

This is our sweet Hazel...she likes to chew on plastic stuff.

Wow! It's been so busy here and it makes it hard to update a blog. We spent a bit getting ready for a garage sale that we had this past weekend, I helped at my MIL's school to get shirts ready for the younger kid's program (which was soooo cute but I STILL have green paint under my nails), and now I am just looking forward to our annual Easter Egg Hunt coming up this weekend.

This Easter will be the 10th Egg Hunt Adam's family has put on and it is such a blast! EVERYONE gets to participate (everyone from kids to Grandparents) and this year we should have 1,300 eggs to hunt for! His family is the best and we have so much fun doing the hunt, eating, and playing games the rest of the day. I am especially excited this year because my Mom, Jami, and Jeremy will be coming. I've been wanting them to come to a get-together with his family since they live 3 hours away and never get to see how great his family is.

After next weekend I will be not looking forward to the next month. Adam will be going out of town a lot and I will only get to see him on weekends. I can't stand being home alone and so I'm going to have to find something to keep me busy.

Anyways! Off to clean house and find something cute to make for Easter. These look cute!

Spring Break

Things have been so crazy lately! Adam went out of town Monday to Utah for work and so I drove 3 hours to my Mom’s house to spend the night. We had a lot of fun…went to dinner, shopping, and watched Desperate Housewives together with a glass of wine!

I brought my brother and sister back with me so they can visit their dad on spring break. We had quite the experience at Cracker Barrel! Our food was free but we missed our movie we had planned on going to. So instead, we just hung out at Target for awhile and went to a later one.

Today I am dropping them off at their dads and then picking up Adam from the airport! I miss him soooo much and it’s only been 2 days. He almost didn’t make his flight because his bags weren’t going to get on the plane in time but he spoke with a very nice lady who made it happen! What a blessing!

I’m so looking forward to the end of this week…I am having a massage and facial with my MIL. I am so blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my in-laws!

On another note, I am trying to start eating a bit healthier but I don’t know where to start. I’m a picky eater (nothing that comes out of water, milk, or pretty much anything green) and so it’s hindering me a bit. If anyone is reading this blog, I would LOVE some recommendations for a recipe site or blog that could help me get started! So far all I have really done is cut down on caffeine and drink a bit more water. (no where near 8 glasses though!)

Anyone have a good recipe for a fruit salad?? Yum!

Updated Laundry Room

So here are the before and after pictures of our laundry room. The before is so unorganized and messy! And so much white!! I am happy that the majority of my clothes can now be dried so hopefully it will stay nice and clean. The orange is pretty bright (Pumpkin Burst from Valspar) and it's even brighter than in the picture (especially with the lights on, haha). But it's really fun and now I actually enjoy being in this room...although the W/D might have something to do with that. And of course I just HAD to buy a pretty jar to put my detergent in. (Try Charlie's Soap, it's amazing!)

Now I just need a rug and a sign on the wall and it's complete! I want to get something to hang the ironing board, broom, and mop but I don't want them in here now, so out to the garage they will go.

Yay for Tax Refunds!

I realized having a blog is a lot harder than I thought. I honestly never have much to write about unless I am hosting a giveaway! Anyways...was so happy to watch Dancing with the Stars last night, I don't know why Adam and I love this show so much. But I couldn't believe that Melissa from the Bachelor was on it. She was a replacement for someone who got hurt and she danced beautifully for only having 3 days to practice. It's going to be tough to choose between her or Shawn Johnson.

On another note, we finally bought the front loaders that we have been dreaming of for years! I was actually surprised that Adam really wanted some and that they were what he wanted to spend some of our refund money on. We bought some gorgeous steel blue Samsung ones and decided to paint our laundry room a bright pumpkin orange! I'm glad we finally painted a room in the house but I'm thinking it's the last one we will paint ourselves. Funny how it seemed like a good idea in the beginning. We thought that it would take a week or so to get the washer and dryer delivered so imagine our surprise when they said it would be the next day! We had to go home Friday night and finish painting the entire room. I still have a few spots left to finish but that's ok. It's so fun to look into the laundry room from the couch. It's so bright that it glows with the light off haha.

I'll post a before and after picture later!

Dancing With the Stars

I am a HUGE fan of Dancing With the Stars! DH and I watch every episode and we have to see every single second of it. I'm excited that it comes back on soon...I think we may be rooting for Shawn Johnson.

I just found out that Derek Hough and Mark Ballas started a band, the Ballas Hough Band. They sound pretty good so I can't wait to hear more. I wonder if they will play on the show like Julianne did. (I love her music as well!) Listen for them! CD comes out March 10th!

Another Giveaway!

The Winner Is....Crystal!
Crystal I don't have your email address so please email me!

I was contacted recently by Al Malekovic from Country Bob's to review their product and I am so excited that I agreed! They sent me TWO bottles of their All Purpose Sauce so quickly and I couldn't wait to make a recipe from their website. I decided (very last minute) to make their BBQ Chicken Pizza and we just loved it. It was super easy and tasted delicious. I followed the recipe exactly on DH's side of the pizza (I'm super picky) and didn't put any of the veggies on my side. I can't wait to try some more of the recipes...I'm definitely eyeing the Crockpot Orange Honey Chicken to try next.

What's even more exciting is that they are offering a free bottle to one of my readers! You absolutely need to try their sauces!

Here's how to enter:
Leave me a comment with your best cleaning tip by Monday, February 23rd! I will pick a winner on the 24th and email you. (Make sure to leave an email if your blogger account is private)

Cleaning mirrors, as a cover for food in the microwave, in the bottom of my plants for drainage, or pretty much anything else you might use a paper towel for!

Good luck!

I want to paint my house!

I need help figuring out how to paint my kitchen. I love how open and big my kitchen is but now that I am wanting to paint, I'm so confused! What I am trying to decide is if I need to paint the breakfast nook too since it's pretty much attached to the kitchen. Since I am wanting to paint myself I figure I will have to paint both the same color since it will be too hard to get a crisp painted edge on the other side of my laundry door. Here are some pictures:

Before we moved in

A few months after we moved

I love the grey in the new HGTV Dream Home but I think it would clash with my tile/counters/cupboards and would make it too dark.

So I was thinking a light green color..I have some pops of a bright green apple color in my kitchen now (kitchenaid mixer, teapot on stove, candles on top of cupboards) Maybe something like this....what do you think??

Christmas Gift

I am so happy that I started this blog with a giveaway! Thank you all for visiting and to the people who are already following my blog.

I love crafts! My favorite things to do are scrapbooking, sewing, and refinishing furniture. I am just now beginning to learn to crochet but sadly I have not finished ANY of the projects I have began. I wanted to take a beginners class at the high school near me but it starts next week while I am out of town.

Here is a craft I made for my little sister for Christmas last year. She wanted something for her walls and she loves blue so I decorated some wooden letters with paint and scrapbook paper! She loved it and I had a blast making them. Let me know what you think!

Oh and speaking of crochet, you should totally sign up for this giveaway: Crochet Name I wish I knew how to make one of these!
